The family of Ms. Nguyen Thi Gai, Phu Le village, Dan Dien commune is a poor household. Her younger brother living in the same house unfortunately has a physical disability, making Ms. Gai's family's difficulties even more difficult. Not only always paying attention to Ms. Gai's family to help and support them in a timely manner, Ms. Ngoc also "traveled back and forth" to connect with donors to find funding to support house repairs for Ms. Gai's family. "I am happy to help any members and do not mind the difficulties. With 35 million VND connected with the help and working days of the people, Ms. Gai repaired the house, built a new kitchen and toilets," Ms. Ngoc said.
When talking about the President of the Commune Women's Union, Ms. Le Thi Dieu in Van Ha Lang village, Dan Dien commune could not help but be moved: Ms. Ngoc is an enthusiastic cadre and always devoted to the members. Thanks to Ms. Ngoc's connection and livelihood support, my husband and I now have stable jobs and income. Not only were we supported with breeding chickens, my family was also able to build a solid chicken coop to develop livestock farming. Knowing my difficult circumstances, my husband is sick and cannot work, and I am the only one raising 3 children to study, the Commune Women's Union connected to support annual scholarships for the children.
From 2022 to June 2025, as Chairwoman of the Women's Union of Quang Phu Commune, Quang Dien District (old), Ms. Ngoc connected with the "Hearts of Hue " Fund to support livelihoods, build 25 solid chicken coops for 25 poor and near-poor households, with a total value of 625 million VND. At the same time, donated breeding animals to poor member households with a total value of 62 million VND. Ms. Ngoc also mobilized resources to support 7 "For Poor Women" addresses with 500,000 VND/household per month; mobilized resources to sponsor 16 orphans in difficult circumstances with an amount of 300,000 VND/month/child; mobilized more than 80 scholarships for poor and disabled students with a total amount of more than 165 million VND.
Not only always looking for ways to connect to support livelihoods, help members escape poverty and develop the economy , Ms. Ngoc has deployed the emulation movement "Join hands to eliminate temporary houses and dilapidated houses" to each association base. To help the right people, the right address, she directed the association bases to proactively survey poor and near-poor member households with degraded and damaged houses to have appropriate support directions. She proactively called for and mobilized resources from organizations and individuals with good hearts to support the poor to repair 5 houses for poor and near-poor households with a total value of 175 million VND and together with the Women's Union at all levels, built 4 loving homes for women members in difficulty.
“Identifying the role and responsibility of an association officer, I always try to find resources to support members in difficulty in the locality, especially in social security activities, job creation, income increase and construction and repair of houses for the poor and those in difficult circumstances. To do that, I always stay close to the area and propose to call for resources from philanthropists,” Ms. Ngoc confided.
Ms. Ngoc said: "After the local government was reorganized, I was fortunate to continue to take on the role of leader in local women's work. Therefore, I will continue to deploy and carry out the emulation movement "Building Vietnamese women of the new era" associated with studying and following the ideology, morality and style of Ho Chi Minh .
At the end of June 2025, Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc was honored to be one of 42 individuals to receive a certificate of merit from the City Women's Union for her outstanding achievements in implementing the patriotic emulation movement in various fields in the period 2020 - 2025. |
