Taking place from October 4 to 7 (ie August 13 to 16 of the lunar calendar), the program is held at the Interior Ministry (Hue Imperial City) and many central streets, combining traditional and modern spaces to recreate the atmosphere of the ancient Mid-Autumn Festival.
The highlight of the festival is the Lion - Lion - Dragon performance and the Mid-Autumn Festival street lantern procession on the afternoon of October 4, from 4:30 pm to 7:00 pm. Lion dance troupes, artists from the Hue Royal Traditional Arts Theatre and students from Phu Xuan secondary schools will participate in the parade on major roads, starting from Nghinh Luong Dinh through Tran Hung Dao Street - Gia Hoi Bridge - Trinh Cong Son Park. Many stops such as Truong Tien Bridge, Phuong Nam Bookstore or the intersection of Tran Hung Dao - Huynh Thuc Khang - Phan Dang Luu will have performances for the public.
On the two nights of October 6 and 7, from 7:30 pm to 10:00 pm, the lantern space at the Interior Ministry will be lit up. Visitors can admire Bao La bamboo and rattan lanterns, folding lanterns by CAN Studio or traditional lanterns by artisans from Gifu province (Japan). Along with that are royal games such as Dau Ho, Bai Vu, Tam Huong, and calligraphy experience, creating a cohesive playground, both educational and reminiscent of the beauty of the traditional Mid-Autumn Festival.
In particular, the program The Royal Palace Full Moon Night takes place from 7:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on October 6 and 7 at the stage behind the Interior Ministry, promising to be an attractive cultural and artistic party.
The organizers said that all activities are open to the public, no tickets are collected. Car passengers will enter through Hoa Binh gate, while pedestrians and motorbike passengers will enter through Hien Nhon gate, pick-up time is from 7pm to 8pm.
“Mid-Autumn Festival in Hue Royal Palace 2025” is not only a playground for children but also an opportunity for visitors from near and far to experience more deeply the traditional cultural beauty of the ancient capital.
