Music director and musician Tran Manh Hung said that since its inception, Dieu Con Mai has chosen to honor Vietnamese musical values using the academic language of a symphony orchestra.

According to the musician, What remains forever is an academic program, not a light music stage. Not every song can be arranged into a symphony.
"Pop music and symphonic music differ in structure, rhythm, and nuance; not every singer can perform well in a symphonic space. The important thing is to maintain unity between lyrics and melody.
"Lyristic melodies about love between couples will be different from heroic melodies about mountains and rivers and the country," said Tran Manh Hung. "Choosing works for What Remains Forever is always a process of consideration, so that each performance is truly representative and worthy."
