Students at many schools in Hanoi are off for the September 2nd parade.

GD&TĐ - Students of inner-city schools in Hanoi will have a day off from school and summer activities during the days of practice and rehearsal for the 80th anniversary of National Day, September 2.

On the afternoon of August 20, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training sent a document to the Chairmen of the People's Committees of wards and communes; heads of units and educational institutions under the Department on coordination to ensure security, safety, and smooth traffic in the city during the practice, preliminary rehearsal, and general rehearsal of the celebration, parade, and National Day parade on September 2.

According to the Hanoi People's Committee's schedule of rehearsals, preliminary rehearsals, and general rehearsals, at Ba Dinh Square and central streets along the parade route, the first general rehearsal will take place at 8:00 p.m. on August 21; the second general rehearsal will take place at 8:00 p.m. on August 24; the preliminary rehearsal of the celebration will take place at 8:00 p.m. on August 27; and the general rehearsal will take place at 6:30 a.m. on August 30.

Accordingly, schools and educational institutions in inner-city wards (in the former districts: Ba Dinh, Hoan Kiem, Dong Da, Hai Ba Trung, Cau Giay, Tay Ho, Nam Tu Liem, Bac Tu Liem, Hoang Mai, Thanh Xuan, Long Bien, Ha Dong) allow students to take time off on the days of practice, preliminary rehearsal, general rehearsal of the Anniversary Ceremony, parade, and march and notify parents of students to coordinate management.

During these days, teachers still go to school to prepare conditions for the new school year.

Schools and educational institutions in other wards and communes, based on actual conditions, the school principal shall consider and decide on allowing students to take time off from school during the practice, preliminary rehearsal, and general rehearsal of the Anniversary Ceremony, parade, and march.

Schools in areas where parades and processions pass through are open for people and tourists to stop, rest, and use personal hygiene, ensuring respect and hospitality.

Since this afternoon, schools in Hanoi have announced that students will have summer break tomorrow, August 21.

According to the 2025-2026 school year schedule of the Ministry of Education and Training , the opening ceremony will be held on September 5, 2025. Students will return to school at least 1 week before the opening day. For grades 1, 9, and 12, they will return to school at least 2 weeks before the opening day.
