Provincial Farmers' Association organizes goat fighting festival

On the morning of June 4, at Ninh Hai Commune Stadium (Hoa Lu), the Provincial Farmers' Association organized the Ninh Binh Goat Fighting Festival. This is the first year Ninh Binh has organized the Goat Fighting Festival at the Tam Coc - Trang An Golden Tourism Week.

Attending the event were comrade Tran Song Tung, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee. Also attending were leaders of the Vietnam Farmers' Union ; leaders of several departments, branches, districts, cities and a large number of people who came to watch and cheer.

Comrade Tran Song Tung, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Organizing Committee of Ninh Binh Tourism Week 2024 presented souvenir flags to units participating in the Goat Fighting Festival.

Participating in the Goat Fighting Festival are 16 goats from 8 districts and cities, competing in 2 weight categories: over 50 kg and under 50 kg. These are all healthy male goats, 3 years old or older, with balanced appearance, clear origin, fully vaccinated, and disease-free.

At the matches, the goat fighters brought the audience attractive and beautiful fights, attracting encouragement and cheering from a large crowd.

After 14 exciting and thrilling matches, the Organizing Committee awarded 2 first prizes to goat owners of the Nho Quan District Farmers' Association and 2 second prizes and 3 third prizes to goat owners of the Farmers' Associations of districts and cities in two weight categories.

After the Goat Fighting Festival, all goat fighters continue to be raised, cared for, trained and bred to create healthy, fast-growing, good quality goat herds.

Through the Goat Fighting Festival, we aim to encourage the livestock movement and encourage people to be more aware of caring for and protecting precious goat breeds to contribute to expanding and promoting local economic development.
