More than 1 million candidates entered the 2025 High School Graduation Literature exam

This morning (June 26), more than 1 million candidates taking the 2025 high school graduation exam began with the Literature exam in essay format.

The time for the Literature exam is 120 minutes. According to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training , candidates receive the exam papers from 7:30 and start taking the exam from 7:35. Candidates who arrive more than 15 minutes late after the exam start time will not be allowed to take the exam that day.

According to statistics from the Ministry of Education and Training, the whole country has more than 1.1 million candidates registered to take the high school graduation exam in 2025. By the afternoon of June 25, the whole country had more than 1.1 million candidates coming to complete exam procedures at exam sites, reaching 99.16%. Of which, more than 22,100 candidates completed exam procedures according to the 2006 General Education Program, reaching 88.73%; over 1.1 million candidates took the exam according to the 2018 General Education Program, reaching 99.54%.

The high school graduation exam from 2025 will consist of four subjects; of which, two are compulsory subjects: Math and Literature. Two optional subjects are from the subjects that students study in high school, including: Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Geography, History, Economic and Legal Education, Information Technology, Technology and Foreign Languages ​​(English, German, Russian, Japanese, French, Chinese, Korean).
