Báo Dân tríBáo Dân trí27/08/2024

The Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) announced the number of candidates confirmed for university admission in the first round of 2024.

Accordingly, 551,479 candidates have confirmed their admission out of a total of 673,586 candidates admitted this year.

Thus, the number of candidates who passed the entrance exam but dropped out in this first round is about 122,000. Last year, the number was 118,000.

However, this year's enrollment rate reached 81.87%, an increase of nearly 2% compared to 2023.

Last year, the number of students enrolled was about 50,000 less than this year.

The increase in enrollment rates is partly due to an increase in the number of candidates registering for admission. In 2024, the Ministry of Education and Training 's system recorded more than 73,000 registrations, an increase of more than 70,000 compared to 2023.

Besides, attractive admission policies, scholarship policies, financial support... from schools also help increase the admission confirmation rate.

From August 28, schools that are short of their quotas will post additional recruitment notices. However, many schools have already announced additional recruitment notices more than a week ago.

The additional recruitment period will last until December according to the Ministry's regulations.
