According to information from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, implementing the first phase of general cleaning, disinfection and environmental detoxification in 2024, from March 1 to April 20, localities have disinfected and detoxified more than 2.03 million m2 . Including nearly 13,900 livestock and poultry farming facilities and households; 122 livestock and poultry slaughterhouses; 86 markets (including spontaneous markets); 173 grazing points, burial pits for livestock and poultry, and public places.
The total amount of chemicals used for disinfection and sterilization of the livestock environment during this period was 1,517 liters of Via-iodine, Bencocid and 22,850 kg of lime.
In addition, livestock and poultry farms and households in the localities have also done quite well in clearing grass and bushes around houses and livestock and poultry farming areas; and in handling daily waste from livestock farming such as collecting, lime making, dredging sewers and periodically spraying disinfectants outside of the plan. Some farming households, slaughterhouses and concentrated livestock farms have had wastewater treatment systems that meet the requirements.
