The GNI event is not only an opportunity to look back on a meaningful two-decade journey but also to announce an ambitious strategic vision for the 2025-2035 period.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Park Dong Chul - Chief Representative of GNI in Vietnam shared his deep feelings about the journey from humble beginnings to today's proud achievements. "When GNI started operating in Vietnam in 2005, our beginnings were very humble: supporting 60 disadvantaged students in small schools in the mountainous area of Hoa Binh , with the simple wish to help them have the opportunity to study and live a better life," Mr. Park Dong Chul shared.

GNI's proud achievements after 20 years
From that small step, GNI Vietnam has continuously expanded its scale and scope of activities, creating great changes in the community. To date, the organization has sponsored more than 21,700 children, with more than 300,000 people benefiting from diverse projects.
In the field of education , GNI has built 17 schools, supported more than 13,000 educational facilities, established 90 friendly libraries and donated more than 200,000 books, helping more than 79,500 children improve their access to quality education. This is a solid foundation for sowing the seeds of knowledge for future generations.
In addition to focusing on education, GNI also cares about children's health and nutrition, with more than 123,600 children receiving regular health check-ups and more than 33,300 children receiving nutrition support. Water and sanitation projects have helped 72,863 people improve their access to clean water and sanitation through 799 clean water facilities/equipment and 1,554 standard toilets.
In particular, GNI has supported more than 2,200 households to join production cooperative groups, increase income and create a sustainable economic foundation. The organization is also a pioneer in protecting children's rights with more than 164,000 children and adults participating in Child Rights Education programs.

GNI’s emergency relief and humanitarian aid activities have reached more than 350,000 people in 26 localities with a total value of 24.6 million USD. These efforts clearly demonstrate GNI’s humanitarian commitment: to promptly accompany the Vietnamese people in even the most difficult times.
Over the past 20 years, GNI Vietnam has signed more than 40 Memorandums of Understanding with ministries, branches, local authorities and enterprises to coordinate, expand and spread the value of community service. The total disbursed capital in the past two decades has reached over 60 million USD, demonstrating the organization's sustainable commitment.
GNI Vision 2025-2035
At the ceremony, GNI also officially announced its strategic vision for the next decade with the message "For children - Spreading positive changes". This strategy is built on five main pillars: building a safe environment for children, promoting equal education, developing sustainable green livelihoods, empowering communities, and innovating to improve organizational capacity.
In particular, GNI will expand its activities to the Central region, focusing on coastal provinces vulnerable to climate change such as Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Nam - Da Nang. A key milestone in this journey is the launch of the Southeast Asia Center for Education Research and Community Development (SEA GN) on June 13, 2025.

GNI aims to have more than 800,000 beneficiaries by 2030, of which more than half a million community members will create positive and sustainable changes. By 2035, this number will increase to more than 1 million people, including hundreds of thousands of children - the future citizens of the country.
Financially, GNI aims to increase resources from over 6.7 million USD in 2025 to 12 million USD in 2030 and over 16 million USD in 2035. These are not just numbers but also a commitment to transparency, accountability and determination to mobilize all resources to sow the seeds of change today, reap a better future.
The 20th anniversary of GNI Vietnam is not only an important milestone marking the achievements but also the beginning of a new and ambitious journey. With the mission of "for a world without poverty, where everyone lives in peace, is respected and has the opportunity to rise up", GNI continues to affirm its important role in creating a fair and humane society, where children are always at the center of development.
