Phu Ninh District celebrates 20 years of establishment and development

On the evening of March 7, the Party Committee and people of Phu Ninh district, Quang Nam province held a ceremony to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the district's establishment (2005 - 2025) and the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the homeland (March 24, 1975 - March 24, 2025).

In his speech reviewing the glorious tradition of Phu Ninh district, Mr. Huynh Xuan Chinh, Chairman of Phu Ninh District People's Committee, said that on January 5, 2005, the Government issued Decree No. 01 adjusting the administrative boundaries of Tam Ky town to establish a new district - Phu Ninh district.

After nearly two decades of striving, Phu Ninh has achieved remarkable achievements. In 2010, Phu Ninh was honored to be selected by the Central Steering Committee as one of the five pilot districts for new rural construction (NTM) nationwide. In 2015, Phu Ninh was recognized as a district meeting the NTM district standards. By the end of 2024, the district will continue to maintain and uphold the criteria for meeting the NTM district standards according to Decision 320/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister and achieve 7/9 criteria for advanced NTM districts. There are 32/48 villages meeting the standards of model NTM villages.

Along with economic development, the district has focused on investing and taking care of effectively solving many issues in the socio-cultural field, in which education has always been identified as the top priority field; from 2 schools meeting national standards level 1, it has now increased to 32/34 schools. The work of gratitude has always been focused on, since the establishment of the district, there have been over 2,000 houses for meritorious people and relatives of meritorious people supported to build new houses and repair.

Mr. Huynh Xuan Chinh affirmed: “The Party Committee and the government of Phu Ninh district are determined to concentrate their spirit, intelligence and solidarity to develop Phu Ninh district at the same pace as the whole province and the country, successfully building an advanced new-style rural district. In which, we focus on building a clean and strong Party and political system; arranging the apparatus in the direction of "refined, compact, strong, efficient, effective and efficient".

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Le Van Dung, Chairman of Quang Nam Provincial People's Committee acknowledged, commended and congratulated the great achievements that the Party Committee, government, army and people of Phu Ninh district have achieved over the past 20 years.

“In the coming time, the tasks set for the whole province in general and Phu Ninh in particular will be extremely heavy, requiring the Party Committee, government and people of Phu Ninh to make more efforts. Proactively seize opportunities, overcome difficulties and challenges, resolutely take actions to well implement the policies and guidelines of the Party and State, and build Phu Ninh to develop more sustainably and comprehensively in all fields…”, said Mr. Le Van Dung.

Mr. Le Van Dung suggested that the Party Committee, government and people of the district continue to promote the revolutionary tradition and the achievements that have been achieved; focus on leading and successfully implementing the goals and tasks set out in the Resolution of the 21st District Party Congress. In particular, it is necessary to pay attention to a number of key tasks such as: Continuing to consolidate, maintain and promote the revolutionary tradition, the spirit of solidarity and unity within the Party Committee, government and people of the entire district to build the Party organization and the grassroots political system increasingly clean and strong; Determined to unite, innovate thinking and working methods, promote the role of the people as the main subject to maintain and improve the quality of new rural construction, strive to successfully build an advanced new rural district, aiming to build the district to achieve a model new rural district;...

On this occasion, Secretary of Quang Nam Provincial Party Committee Luong Nguyen Minh Triet presented the Party Committee, government and people of Phu Ninh district with a banner with the content: "Solidarity - Innovation - Creativity, determined to build a rich, beautiful and civilized Phu Ninh district".
