Israel and Ukraine set to receive new aid packages from the US

On December 5, the US Senate announced a $110.5 billion budget package to provide aid to Ukraine and Israel, as well as strengthen border security.

Under the bill, the US would provide Ukraine with $15.1 billion in military aid through military training, intelligence sharing, increased presence in the European Command and other activities through November 15, 2024; $11.8 billion in direct support for Ukraine's budget, and $2.2 billion to help the country improve priority areas such as transportation and energy.

In addition, the US will provide $1.7 billion in military equipment purchases for Ukraine and several partners to meet needs for air defense, artillery, maritime security and equipment maintenance.

Israel also received an aid package worth $10.6 billion, including $4 billion to help improve its air defense capabilities and $1.2 billion to accelerate the deployment of the Iron Beam missile defense system; and $3.5 billion to help the country restore security and deterrence capabilities.

In addition, the US plans to provide $2 billion to support key partners in the Indo- Pacific . In addition, this aid package also includes $10 billion in humanitarian aid for people in affected areas, including Ukraine, the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.

Previously, on December 4, the White House urged the US Congress to soon pass a supplementary budget package because the aid budget for Ukraine was almost exhausted.
