The unique highlight of the Celebration was the rich and unique cultural and artistic program. The opening performance with the songs “Continuing the Story of Peace” and “National Festival” brought a solemn and bustling atmosphere of the great national festival, arousing the national pride of Vietnamese people living far from home. In particular, the traditional Ao Dai performance by designer Xuan Hong on the background of folk music, performed by artists from the Vietnamese Cultural Center in France, left a strong impression. The collection with the theme “Pride of Vietnam” consisted of 4 parts: “Dragon - Phoenix”, “River - Mountain”, “Spring Colors” and “Lotus”, honoring the national origin, natural beauty, vitality and indomitable spirit of the Vietnamese people.
On the background of traditional melodies, the graceful ao dai becomes a “silk river flowing through time”, connecting heritage with modernity, national culture with international friends. In addition, guests experienced 5 spaces of Vietnamese culture and cuisine : from printing Dong Ho paintings, enjoying egg coffee, salt coffee, lotus tea, discovering traditional fine arts, admiring ao dai and Vietnamese silk, to immersing in a buffet with special folk dishes. The performances of monochord, T'rung, K'long Put intertwined created a diverse picture of sound, bringing international friends closer to Vietnamese culture.
Speaking to VNA reporters at the event, journalist Jean Mussy - President of the Foreign Press Association in Switzerland and Liechtenstein (APES) expressed his honor to participate in the celebration of Vietnam's 80th National Day right in Geneva.
