Opening of swimming classes to prevent drowning for primary school students in Hoa Lu district

On May 3, Hoa Lu Department of Education and Training coordinated with the Provincial Youth and Children's Center to organize the opening of swimming and drowning prevention classes for primary school students in Hoa Lu district in 2024.

2024 is the second year of implementing the "Project on teaching swimming and preventing drowning for primary school students in Hoa Lu district, phase 2023-2025" of the District People's Committee. The whole district has 513 third grade students of primary schools registered to learn swimming and prevent drowning.

Attending the class, students are equipped with basic swimming knowledge, taught frog swimming skills, drowning prevention skills, drowning rescue methods, first aid for victims, water safety knowledge, etc. Each class is conducted in 12-15 sessions. At the end of the course, students will be tested to receive a certificate of completion of the swimming course.

Drowning prevention education for primary school students is an important solution to help reduce the risk of drowning accidents, while also achieving the goal of "fundamental and comprehensive innovation in education and training", creating a useful and attractive playground for students, helping them to exercise, improve life skills,...

At the opening ceremony, the Organizing Committee presented 50 life jackets to students from funding from the Provincial Traffic Safety Committee.
