Opening of the program 'Through the heritage sites of Viet Bac'

The 14th program "Through the Viet Bac heritage sites" opened on the evening of September 22 in Tuyen Quang .

Attending the program were Politburo member, Head of the Central Economic Commission Tran Tuan Anh; former leaders of the Party, State and leaders of central ministries and branches and leaders of 6 Viet Bac provinces: Tuyen Quang, Ha Giang , Bac Kan, Lang Son, Thai Nguyen and Cao Bang and a large number of people.

At the opening ceremony, Chairman of the People's Committee of Tuyen Quang province Nguyen Van Son emphasized that with the aspiration to develop tourism into an important economic sector, the 6 provinces of the Viet Bac war zone in the past are now striving to promote their potential and advantages, making tourism increasingly developed, constantly improving the material and spiritual life of the people. After 14 years of rotation, the tourism program "Through the Viet Bac heritage sites" has become an annual event, a tourism product that increasingly affirms its brand, promotes the effective exploitation of the potential and strengths of each locality, creating momentum for the region's rapid and sustainable socio-economic development.

This year, the Program is held on the occasion of Thanh Tuyen Festival, a unique festival of Tuyen Quang, a unique tourism product initiated, preserved and promoted by the people themselves. This year's festival has the participation of many provinces in the region and some localities and international organizations, attracting special attention from domestic and foreign tourists.

At the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Doan Van Viet suggested that, in order to effectively promote the tourism program "Through the Viet Bac Heritage Areas" in association with the preservation and promotion of the cultural and historical values of the Viet Bac War Zone, localities need to accelerate investment in building infrastructure systems and tourism facilities for provinces connecting the Viet Bac Heritage Area; roads to tourist areas, destinations, and historical and cultural relics. Prioritize investment in upgrading the system of revolutionary historical and cultural relic clusters... to meet the needs of tourism development; coordinate in promoting destinations, building tourism brands through promoting the tourism image of the Viet Bac Heritage Area.

At the same time, promote the socialization of tourism development linkage activities associated with community tourism development; increase the application of modern information technology in tourism propaganda and promotion activities; pay attention to protecting tourism resources and environment, ensuring security and safety for tourists, and ensuring sustainable exploitation of the tourism potential of the whole region.

The 14th "Through the Viet Bac Heritage Sites" tourism program and Thanh Tuyen Festival 2023 will take place until September 27 with many unique and attractive cultural, artistic and sports activities to serve tourists such as: Festival of Community Tourism Cultural Villages of 6 Viet Bac provinces; Film Program - Connecting Heritage and Tourism of Tuyen Quang; Trade Fair - Tourism of Tuyen Quang province; Exhibition and introduction of Vietnamese culinary quintessence and Hanoi Beer Festival; Sports competitions. These are important highlights to promote the tourism potential of each locality. Tourist areas and spots of Tuyen Quang province organize many activities and events to create attractive playgrounds, attracting tourists to experience, learn and explore.

The Viet Bac war zone provinces have many similarities in natural, economic, cultural, social conditions and potentials and advantages for tourism development, especially historical tourism, eco-tourism, resort and cultural tourism, with a system of important national relic sites, such as ATK Pac Bo (Cao Bang), ATK Tan Trao (Tuyen Quang), ATK Dinh Hoa (Thai Nguyen), ATK Cho Don (Bac Kan). This is an ideal red address for education and revolutionary traditions; a place where many ethnic minorities converge and exchange cultures, with unique customs, practices, festivals, folk culture, cuisine and traditional crafts. This place has beautiful natural landscapes, diverse ecosystems with primeval forests, majestic river systems, lakes, waterfalls, caves, famous landmarks such as: Non Nuoc Cao Bang Geopark, Dong Van Karst Plateau Global Geopark (Ha Giang), Ba Be Lake (Bac Kan), Mau Son Mountain (Lang Son), Nui Coc Lake (Thai Nguyen), Na Hang - Lam Binh National Special Scenic Spot (Tuyen Quang) ... are considered interesting destinations, attractive to both domestic and international tourists.

After 14 years of formation and development, the Program has created regional development links in 6 Viet Bac provinces. Tours and tourism products have been formed. The number of tourists to the provinces has increased. In the period 2009 - 2022, 6 provinces have attracted over 71 million visitors, with an average growth rate of over 15%/year. Social tourism income reached over 50 trillion VND, contributing to the GRDP of each province, promoting the development of many other economic sectors, creating many jobs for local people.
