(NADS) - On the evening of November 7, the opening ceremony of the 7th Hanoi International Film Festival (HANIFF VII) took place at the Hoan Kiem Theater, Hanoi. The event was attended by many delegates and famous domestic and international artists.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Film Festival, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong emphasized: "The Hanoi International Film Festival has gone through 6 periods and the 7th period continues to open up opportunities for international cooperation, helping Vietnamese filmmakers meet, exchange and learn experiences with international directors, producers and film artists, while accessing advanced filmmaking trends and technologies, serving the production of high-quality films. The Film Festival is also an opportunity for professionals around the world to meet, exchange and cooperate through activities at the Film Festival."
Ms. Vu Thu Ha - Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee said: "Hanoi City is honored to accompany the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in organizing the Hanoi International Film Festival 2024. Hanoi City - a Creative City voted by UNESCO - the Capital of beautiful Vietnam, is ready with all conditions to contribute to the overall success of the 7th Hanoi International Film Festival 2024".
Participating in the categories at the Festival include: 11 feature films; 19 short films; 7 films in the German Cinema Focus Program; 39 films in the World Cinema Panorama Program; 33 films in the Contemporary Vietnamese Film Program; 9 films in the Film Program celebrating the 70th Anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital.
Hanoi audiences have the opportunity to enjoy free movies at the following cinema systems: National Cinema Center (87 Lang Ha, Dong Da, Hanoi); BHD Star Cineplex (8th floor of Vincom Trade Center, 2 Pham Ngoc Thach, Dong Da, Hanoi); CGV Mipec Tower (5th floor of Mipec Tower, 229 Tay Son, Dong Da, Hanoi).
The Closing Ceremony - Award Ceremony of the Film Festival will be held at Ho Guom Theater at 8:00 p.m. on November 11, 2024, broadcast live on Vietnam Television (VTV2).
