Khanh Hoa: Handing over fishermen after stable treatment of injuries at Truong Sa

Doctors at Truong Sa Island have stabilized the injuries of fisherman Tieu Viet But, who fell from a height of about 4 meters and hit his head on the hard floor of his fishing boat.

On the morning of June 21, at the Truong Sa Town Medical Center, Truong Sa District, Khanh Hoa Province, military doctors of Brigade 146 (Navy Region 4) handed over patient Tieu Viet But, born in 1970, a fisherman working on fishing boat QNg 95657TS of Quang Ngai Province, after being treated for injuries caused by a work accident at sea.

Mr. But was taken to Truong Sa Island by Fishing Boat QNg-95657TS for emergency treatment on the evening of June 18, after a work accident on board that occurred the same morning.

A fisherman working on the same boat, Mr. Tieu Viet Luu, said that at around 7am on June 18, while working, Mr. But unfortunately slipped and fell from a height of about 4 meters, hitting his head on the hard floor. The accident left him unconscious for about 30 minutes and caused heavy bleeding in the temples on both sides.

Immediately after receiving and examining him, doctors on the island diagnosed Mr. But with a concussion and scalp wounds in the temporal region on both sides. They actively treated him with antibiotics, pain relievers, anti-edema drugs, vitamin supplements, and required him to be immobilized in bed.

By June 21, the patient's health condition had stabilized, he was alert, responsive, had no more symptoms of headache, nausea or limb weakness, and the head wound had dried.

Mr. But was received by the captain and owner of the fishing boat QNg 95657TS, Le Nam Ngọt, following the transfer procedure between the military medical force and the fishermen.

The Naval Region 4 Command said that recently, officers and soldiers on the Truong Sa archipelago in general and the medical force on Truong Sa island in particular have made continuous efforts in performing their duties, promptly treating many fishermen in distress or suffering from sudden illnesses at sea, contributing to beautifying the image of Uncle Ho's soldiers at the forefront.

These are meaningful activities, aiming to welcome the upcoming 14th Congress of the Navy Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term./.
