Khanh Hoa inaugurates road connecting expressway and Ca Na general seaport

The road connecting the North-South Expressway with National Highway 1 and Ca Na General Seaport plays a very important role, contributing to the effective implementation of the strategy for developing the logistics system and seaports.

On September 20, in Thuan Nam commune, Khanh Hoa Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board held the inauguration ceremony of the North-South Expressway connecting to National Highway 1 - Component 1 of the North-South Expressway connecting to National Highway 1 and Ca Na Seaport Project. This is a project to welcome the 1st Provincial Party Congress, term 2025 - 2030.

The project of the road connecting the North - South Expressway with National Highway 1 and Ca Na General Seaport has a total investment of more than 689 billion VND, divided into 2 component projects. Component Project 1: The section from the North - South Expressway to National Highway 1 is 10.14 km long, with an investment of more than 428 billion VND; to date, the construction has basically been completed. Component Project 2: The section from National Highway 1 to Ca Na General Seaport is 12.86 km long; has started construction, striving to be completed in December 2025.

Mr. Tran Hoa Nam, Vice Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee, said that the road connecting the North-South Expressway with National Highway 1 and Ca Na General Seaport plays a very important role, contributing to the effective implementation of the strategy for developing the logistics system and seaports in the spirit of Resolution No. 36-NQ/TW dated October 22, 2018 of the Party Central Committee on the strategy for sustainable development of the marine economy ; at the same time, concretizing major goals in the provincial planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050.

According to Mr. Nam, putting this route into operation will not only shorten the time and cost of transporting goods, but also create a strong push to effectively exploit Ca Na General Seaport, develop Ca Na Industrial Park in the coming time; form a sustainable production - logistics - export value chain; expand development space, contribute to spreading to many industries and fields, create more jobs, improve income and life for local people.

Mr. Nam suggested that in the coming time, relevant levels, sectors and units actively coordinate to effectively implement management and operation work; focus on accelerating the completion of Component 2 project; in particular, monitor, urge and soon complete Thuan Nam intersection on the North-South expressway to synchronously exploit the entire route.

The Provincial Economic Zone and Industrial Park Management Board, relevant departments, branches and units coordinate to accelerate the progress of infrastructure investment in Ca Na Industrial Park according to the planning; step up investment promotion; exploit the maximum potential of Ca Na Industrial Park and Ca Na General Seaport. The authorities of relevant wards and communes strengthen land management and construction order along both sides of the road; proactively review planning orientations to develop exploitation plans, call for investment, ensure sustainability and efficiency.
