The statue is cast in bronze, 1.7 m high, 1.6 m wide, 2.3 m long, and weighs 500 kg. The statue was designed and installed by architect Ho Viet Vinh and his team in collaboration with the Hue City Green Park Center, in harmony with the landscape of Trinh Cong Son Street Park (Gia Hoi Ward, Hue City).
Mr. Truong Dinh Hanh, Vice Chairman of Hue City People's Committee, said that recently, Hue City has made efforts to renovate Trinh Cong Son Park to contribute to beautifying the general landscape of Hue city and the space of the Perfume River bank - indispensable images in Trinh's music - to make this place suitable and appropriate for placing Trinh Cong Son's statue. The place where the statue is placed will also be a stop for admirers to have the opportunity to learn more about Trinh Cong Son's life and career, where he composed his first songs.
Hue City leaders pledged to continue completing the park according to the plan to continue arranging the memorabilia of the late musician Trinh Cong Son. Singer Trinh Vinh Trinh, Trinh Cong Son's younger sister, expressed her emotion when the statue of the late musician was erected in Hue, on the occasion of his 85th birthday (February 28, 1939 - February 28, 2024).
After the statue inauguration ceremony, Hue City People's Committee coordinated to organize a music program with the theme Afternoon in my homeland to serve music lovers with 21 performances of Trinh Cong Son's songs.
