When people still look up to the sky

When the book 'Intuitive Astronomy' was released, primary school children asked questions like: 'Why does the universe keep expanding?', 'Where are black holes?'...

The two speakers, MSc. Pham Vu Loc - researcher at the Vietnam Space Center and Dr. Phan Thanh Hien - lecturer and researcher at the Department of Space and Applications, Hanoi University of Science and Technology - thoroughly answered the children's questions.

They are happy to see that today's children, despite having too many concerns in the virtual world, still retain their curiosity and desire to explore the sky and the universe.

"Curiosity about the sky has existed since the birth of mankind and has been maintained forever. So I am not surprised that second and third graders ask such big questions," Mr. Pham Vu Loc shared with Tuoi Tre.

Mr. Loc said that since the beginning of civilization, humans have tried to explain the complex movements of celestial bodies and countless ancient relics and artifacts have reflected this human interest.

Astronomy was born very early. Until today it has developed to a very high level. If before black holes were only completely the product of theory, recently people have taken pictures of the bright ring that is believed to be the mouth of a black hole.

And the more developed the science of astronomy, the more it stimulates the desire to explore the wonderful mysteries of the sky and the universe, not the other way around. Finding books that provide both a comprehensive and detailed view is necessary for those who are truly passionate about astronomy and exploring the sky.

There have been many books published to provide knowledge and satisfy the desire to conquer the mysterious universe. Among them, Intuitive Astronomy, according to Mr. Pham Vu Loc, is an attractive book for children and anyone interested because of its intuitiveness.

Intuition is very important in astronomy, helping to maintain a long-lasting interest in the science of the sky, even for amateurs.

The book consists of three chapters: History, Universe and Sky, and valuable appendices such as monthly sky maps, almanacs, glossaries, and indexes.

The book begins with an overview of the history of astronomy, from its inception to the development of astrophysics, the race to the Moon, the space shuttle and the space station...

The Universe chapter introduces the origin of the universe, the fate of the universe, and phenomena such as star classification, star life cycle, star clusters, variable stars, galaxies, solar systems...

The final chapter of Night Sky will lead readers to search for the secrets of the sky, draw the appearance of the sky, guide to observing the sky with binoculars, telescopes and learn about astrophotography, guide to making a sky map, how to read this map, guide to constellations...

"A random glance up at the sky can take us across the abysses" of space and time...

Astronomy is a science that has no limits...

It attempts to answer the most basic questions such as: Where did we come from and are we alone in the universe?...". Ian Ridpath opens the book Intuitive Astronomy like this.
