Kien Giang has a new Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee

On the morning of December 26, the People's Council of Kien Giang province held its 30th session to conduct personnel work and elect the Chairman of the People's Committee of Kien Giang province.

At the meeting, delegates elected Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nhan, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to hold the position of Chairman of the Kien Giang Provincial People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term with 50/54 votes in favor.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nhan was born in 1977, hometown: Tan Hiep district, Kien Giang province; professional qualifications: construction engineer, PhD in agricultural economics; political qualifications: Senior politician.

Previously, Mr. Nhan held the positions of Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ha Tien City, and Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Kien Giang Province.

At the meeting, delegates also voted unanimously to dismiss Mr. Lam Minh Thanh from the position of Chairman of the People's Committee of Kien Giang province for the 2021-2026 term and elected Mr. Thanh to hold the position of Chairman of the People's Council of Kien Giang province for the 2021-2026 term.

Mr. Lam Minh Thanh was born in 1972, hometown: Phu Quoc city; professional qualification: Bachelor of law; political qualification: Senior.

The session also dismissed Mr. Mai Van Huynh from the position of Chairman of the Provincial People's Council and terminated his duties as a delegate of the Kien Giang Provincial People's Council for the 2021-2026 term.

Previously, in his position as Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Mr. Huynh submitted a resignation letter and was allowed by the Central Party Secretariat to take leave from work to enjoy the regime and policies according to regulations.

Then Mr. Huynh submitted a resignation letter from the position of Chairman of the People's Council and resigned as a People's Council delegate.
