
Previously, at 1:20 p.m. the same day, Song Doc Border Guard Station received information that vessel CM 06484 TS, captained by Mr. Phu Ky Sung (born in 1994, residing in Da Bac commune, Ca Mau province), with 3 crew members on board, was on its way to shore about 5 nautical miles southeast of Da Bac estuary when it encountered a tornado, causing the vessel to sink.
Immediately after receiving the news, Song Doc Border Guard Station used the communication system to call on fishing boats operating nearby to assist in searching and rescuing the distressed crew members. At the same time, 7 officers, soldiers and local vehicles were immediately sent to sea to search and rescue the crew members.
At 1:40 p.m., fishing boat CM 05587 TS captained by Doan Van Yen (born in 1979, residing in Da Bac commune) was operating nearby and assisted and rescued one crew member. At around 2:00 p.m., the working group of Song Doc Border Guard Station searched and rescued the remaining three crew members.
Afterwards, the working group of Song Doc Border Guard Station brought the crew members ashore for medical care by the unit’s medical team. Currently, the rescued crew members are in stable health and have recovered mentally.
