The Theatre Ancestor's Death Anniversary is a cultural ceremony closely associated with the traditional beliefs of Vietnamese art. For artists working in the field of stage art, the Ancestor's Death Anniversary has a profound meaning, an occasion to offer incense to the Ancestor of the profession, to remember and express gratitude to the ancestors who created unique and valuable stage art, enriching the national cultural identity.
At the same time, it is an opportunity to pay tribute to previous generations of artists, to the audience who have always accompanied artists, always supported performance activities to light up the stage, creating more motivation for artists to foster and nurture their love for the profession, be creative, so that generations of artists continue to contribute and spread art, the values of truth - goodness - beauty to the community, together contributing to the construction and development of the Theater industry in Ho Chi Minh City and the whole country.

For those working in the performing arts, this traditional day also helps create conditions for generations to meet, exchange, and share stories about their careers and lives; the younger generation of artists shows their interest and honors the careers and great contributions of veteran artists and predecessors who have worked hard to nurture the stage in particular and the country's arts in general to constantly develop.

According to tradition, Vietnam Theatre Day on the 12th day of the 8th lunar month is also the Theatre Ancestor's Death Anniversary, so the Ancestor's Death Anniversary was organized solemnly, respectfully, and thoughtfully by the Ho Chi Minh City Theatre Association - City Artists' Friendship Committee, with full rituals of praying, dancing the Four Heavenly Kings, offering incense, flowers, tea, and fruits to the Ancestors and the souls of the exemplary predecessors of Vietnamese Theatre.
