On the afternoon of April 19, the Quang Ninh Department of Health informed that doctors from the Van Don District Medical Center had successfully delivered a woman on a motorboat in the middle of the ocean.
Accordingly, at around 10am on April 17, Van Don District Medical Center received a call for emergency assistance from Quan Lan Regional General Clinic regarding a pregnant woman, VTH, who was 38 weeks pregnant and in labor. As soon as the news was received, the emergency team quickly prepared all the necessary equipment and boarded the boat to perform the task. After about 45 minutes of traveling to Quan Lan Island, the pregnant woman was picked up by the emergency team and taken to the mainland.
While getting off the plane, which was transporting the pregnant woman VTH from Quan Lan Island to the mainland, the pregnant woman suddenly had a lot of pain, and the fetal heart rate reached about 130-150 beats/minute. When checking, the pregnant woman's cervix was fully dilated, and the fetal head was low, so the emergency team instructed the pregnant woman to push.
About 5 minutes later, the delivery was successful, the mother gave birth to a baby boy. The medical team took care of the mother and baby safely right on the boat.
