New page expectations of trade union organization

Former Permanent Vice President of the An Giang Provincial Labor Federation (LDLĐ) Nguyen Huu Giang said that he has been involved in trade union activities for more than 31 years, starting as a worker in a handicraft cooperative, then going through many tasks at the Provincial Labor Federation. During his work, what he remembers most is being close to workers and businesses; the union takes care of workers from material to spiritual, protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of workers. The greatest joy for trade union officials, including himself, is being recognized by businesses and workers for the practical activities they have done. Besides, there is also the close relationship between union members, workers and trade union officials from the grassroots to the district and provincial levels.

Mr. Nguyen Le Bao Truc, former Vice Chairman of the Tri Ton District Labor Union, shared many memories with the union organization, which he considered his "second home". Mr. Truc grew up as a union officer at a business unit and after nearly 15 years working as a full-time union officer at the district union, he learned many skills, working methods, and useful knowledge to meet practical requirements. Each time he organized activities at the grassroots level, the district union made another mark. In response to their dedication, union members and workers became increasingly close and appreciated.

Activities to take care of Tet 2025 for union members and workers in industrial parks

For Mr. Ngo The Trung, former Vice President of the Labor Federation of Tinh Bien Town, it is impossible to tell all the profound memories after the time of being attached to the blue union shirt. For more than 16 years of working in the area, he worked with more than 100 grassroots unions and trade unions (more than 3,000 union members). That was the time he lived, worked, and contributed to the workers' movement and union activities. His happiness was taking care of union members' lives, advising and supporting the "Union Shelter" for people in especially difficult circumstances; building cultural and artistic movements, useful study trips...

Not only do I have beautiful memories of union officials, I myself, who is in charge of the column in the newspaper, have followed my aunts, uncles, and brothers and sisters through many terms for many years, and I also have very beautiful emotions! Those are the joyful eyes when they announce that on the occasion of Tet, Workers' Month, the unit has more gifts to send to support union members. Among them, there are many cases of serious illness, work accidents, relatives with serious illnesses... Those who come to visit are thoughtful and touched, those who receive the gifts also have tears in their eyes. There are interactions that do not require many words but are filled with indescribable emotions.

The team of district and industry union officials has completed its mission and entered a new phase. They all made a commitment when accepting the new task, despite difficulties and challenges, the spirit of a party member and union official will always be continued, not complacent about what has been achieved, but must always try harder. In addition to the knowledge and experience that the union has equipped them with, they all expressed their determination to continue self-study and research on the contents related to the assigned field, trying to complete it in the best way to contribute to building a sustainable local development.

Mr. Nguyen Huu Giang said that implementing the policy of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor to reorganize the apparatus and dissolve the trade unions in the administrative and career sectors is something that full-time trade union officials regret. Along with that, trade union officials are very concerned about the activities of the trade union organization with many difficulties ahead, when the number of union members, workers and financial resources are all decreasing, affecting trade union activities. Including focusing on implementing 3 breakthroughs in the Resolution of the 13th Congress of Vietnam Trade Union: Developing union members, establishing grassroots trade unions, negotiating and signing collective labor agreements, and building a team of trade union officials in enterprises. The function of the upcoming trade union organization, in addition to taking care of, must also protect the legitimate and legal rights and interests of workers.

Currently, district-level union officials have transferred their duties, and some officials have applied for early retirement to create conditions for the organization to be reorganized. Generations of union officials have entrusted and encouraged them to believe that with the spirit of solidarity and overcoming difficulties, all upcoming tasks will gradually stabilize, meeting the requirements in the new situation. An Giang Provincial Union continues to maintain and promote the achievements that generations of union officials have built and achieved. An Giang Trade Union will continue to affirm its important role and position in social life, constantly improve operational efficiency, meet the requirements and tasks in the new period of the country, and continue to be a reliable support for union members and workers...
