Expected to become a new tourism growth pole of the South Central region

With a long coastline, warm and sunny climate all year round, and a rich forest and marine ecosystem, the South of Khanh Hoa (formerly Ninh Thuan) is a potential new destination on the Vietnam tourism map. Not only possessing beautiful pristine beaches and bays, this land also has unique cultural values, promising to contribute to the development of tourism in the new period.

Destination where sea, forest and heritage converge

The South of Khanh Hoa is becoming a prominent destination thanks to its diverse natural landscape and unique cultural values. The year-round sunny climate with little rain is a special advantage, creating ideal conditions for outdoor exploration and recreation activities. This area stretches from Binh Tien beach to Ca Na with a coastline of more than 105 km, considered one of the most beautiful coastal routes in Vietnam today with a series of long beaches such as: Binh Tien, Bai Thung, Bai Coc, Ninh Chu, Binh Son, Ca Na.

One of the famous destinations is Vinh Hy Bay (Vinh Hai Commune) in Nui Chua National Park located in Nui Chua World Biosphere Reserve, which has been ranked as a national scenic spot and is among the top beautiful bays in Vietnam. This place attracts a large number of tourists because of its poetic scenery, fresh climate, suitable for relaxation and exploration. From Vinh Hy Bay, visitors can join many attractive tours and routes such as: Lo O stream - Red Rock peak; Hang Rock - 5-storey waterfall; hanging lake - Da Vach cape; conquering Nui Chua peak; Binh Tien freshwater stream; Hom beach - Rai cave - stone park; experiencing Thai An grape village...

Mr. Tran Van Minh (a tourist from Ho Chi Minh City) shared: "My family and I have visited Vinh Hy Bay many times and each time we have had new experiences. The most wonderful thing is that the sea here is very beautiful and still pristine. Sitting on a glass-bottom boat to see the coral, kayaking or diving makes everyone excited to be immersed in nature. After the journey of discovery, enjoying fresh seafood right in the fishing village brings a feeling that is both rustic and unique, leaving everyone with many unforgettable memories."

To meet the increasing demand for relaxation and entertainment of tourists, many units have invested in upgrading facilities and services. According to Mr. Nguyen Anh Vu, Director of Phat Hoang Long - Ninh Thuan Limited Liability Company, currently, the company's Vinh Hy Resort owns more than 120 luxury rooms with a diverse service system, fully meeting the needs of relaxation, cuisine and entertainment. In particular, from September 11 to 19, the final round of the Miss Ocean Vietnam 2025 contest was held here, contributing to promoting the image of Vinh Hy Bay and tourism in the South of Khanh Hoa province to a large number of domestic and foreign tourists.

Not only famous for the sea, the South of Khanh Hoa also has Nui Chua National Park, Phuoc Binh National Park - where there is a rich flora and fauna, many of which are listed in the Vietnam Red Book and the IUCN Red List. The vast fields of grapes, apples, salt fields, rocky mountains, coastal forests and sand dunes such as Nam Cuong, Mui Dinh create favorable conditions for the development of eco-tourism, trekking and experiencing local culture. Historical relics, traditional festivals along with Bau Truc Cham pottery village, My Nghiep brocade weaving village further increase the attraction of this land. In addition, coastal fishing villages with fresh seafood cuisine and rustic fishermen's lives also create a unique feature for tourists' journey of discovery.

Experts say that while Nha Trang and Cam Ranh represent vibrant coastal tourism cities, Vinh Hy and Phan Rang retain their wildness and cultural depth. When these tourism spaces are connected, Khanh Hoa will not only stop at island tourism but will become a destination for complete experiences from luxury resorts, exploring nature to learning about cultural heritage.

Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Secretary Nghiem Xuan Thanh said that the province has many advantages in developing tourism and has identified it as a key economic sector. Resolution No. 01-NQ/TU dated July 14, 2025 of the Provincial Party Committee on double-digit economic growth in the period 2025 - 2030 identifies service tourism as one of the four main pillars of development. The goal by 2030 is that Khanh Hoa will welcome 20.5 million visitors, including 10.5 million international visitors; have 100,000 accommodation rooms, about 75% of which are 3-5 star standard; create jobs for over 300,000 direct and indirect workers; contribute 15% of GRDP and 20% of total local budget revenue to tourism.

To achieve the above goals, the province focuses on developing key tourism types, including sea and island tourism; conference and seminar tourism; eco-tourism; community tourism; resort and health care tourism. Along with that, the locality develops cultural heritage tourism, spiritual tourism associated with environmental protection and promoting traditional cultural identity. Currently, Khanh Hoa is urgently completing to soon approve and implement the Provincial Tourism Development Strategy for the period 2025 - 2030, with a vision to 2045.

According to the Secretary of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, the province has set out orientations for the development of key tourist areas. Specifically: Nha Trang and Vinh Hy focus on developing sea tourism, exploring historical relics; Bac Van Phong is built into an international-class sea tourism urban area; Northern Cam Ranh Peninsula and Ninh Chu tourist areas aim to become national tourist areas. At the same time, the province promotes the exploitation of the potential of Nui Chua World Biosphere Reserve, Phuoc Binh National Park, experiencing Nam Cuong sand dunes, Mui Dinh, eco-tourism in Khanh Son, Khanh Vinh and large irrigation lakes. At the same time, the province strengthens links with localities in the South Central Coast, Central Highlands and key tourist areas to effectively exploit common potentials, creating momentum for sustainable development.

The southern region of Khanh Hoa is considered a potential land to become a new attractive destination. With the investment attention of the government and the companionship of businesses, this place is gradually forming typical tourism products, from sea and island resorts to experiencing local culture. In the near future, this area is expected to become a new tourism growth pole of Khanh Hoa and the South Central region.
