At the Commendation Ceremony, Politburo member, Party Central Committee Secretary, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh praised and congratulated the commended ethnic minority students and youth. "There are thousands of beautiful and touching stories across the country about the efforts of ethnic minority students and youth to rise up. For them, the road to school is far, bumpy and difficult; their luggage to school includes not only books but also rice, fish sauce, salt, cotton blankets, and winter clothes; the time to start walking to school is when the rooster crows. In that situation, to go to school regularly and go to class like their friends is an outstanding effort. But to become an excellent student, to win a national prize or to be a university valedictorian requires extraordinary efforts. They are truly shining examples of determination and aspiration to rise up".
