70 years have passed, but the spirit and momentum of the " Dien Bien soldiers" of the past are still like a red flag urging the unit's officers and soldiers to constantly strive, work hard, promote tradition, and be determined to excellently complete all assigned tasks.

Present in the new formation of Company 2, Battalion 7 visiting the Song Lo soldiers' monument, Lieutenant Duong Duy Anh, Deputy Political Commissar of the Company enthusiastically introduced: "The history of Regiment 209 is associated with glorious feats of arms, including the Dien Bien Phu Victory in 1954. This is an honor, pride, and motivation for us to continue to inherit, promote, and strive to complete all tasks well."

These days, following the spirit of "Dien Bien soldiers" in carrying out their duties, Lieutenant Phan Ba ​​Hanh, Platoon Leader of Platoon 2, Company 12, Battalion 9, and his teammates are racing against time, striving to successfully complete the task of training for the parade and marching to serve the 70th Anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory.

He was trusted by the commander to be the leader of the Division's flag unit. To complete the task well, he practiced diligently every day, taking advantage of breaks and days off to practice more. Phan Ba ​​Hanh confided: "Being able to participate in the training to prepare for the parade and march at the anniversary ceremony, I feel very proud and determined to carry out the assigned task well with my teammates."

After Regiment 209 held the 2024 training launch ceremony and launched the emulation "Following the footsteps of Dien Bien soldiers, moving forward to win "3 firsts", in order to arouse the pride and spirit of the "Dien Bien soldiers" spirit of the past for officers and soldiers, the Party Committee and commander of Regiment 209 organized many propaganda and education activities on traditions for soldiers with many rich contents and forms, such as: Talking about traditions, interacting with historical witnesses who participated in the battle at the Dien Bien Phu front...

To make traditional education content truly permeate into the troops, the Regiment organized propaganda on the internal radio system, emulation bulletin boards, and commended good people and good deeds... The results of the first week of training test showed that 100% of all subjects met the requirements; the test contents on political awareness and awareness of unit traditions met the requirements, of which nearly 83% were good and excellent.

Lieutenant Colonel Pham Van Ky, Party Committee Secretary and Political Commissar of Regiment 209, said: “In recent times, the Party Committee and Regiment commanders have led and directed agencies and units to promote political and ideological education for officers and soldiers to fully understand the position, role, significance, and historical value of the Dien Bien Phu Victory and the honor and pride of studying and working at Regiment 209. Along with that, we continue to do a good job of propaganda and spreading the spirit of “Dien Bien soldiers”, building soldiers to always have a strong will, strong belief, master weapons and equipment, have a brave spirit, and strive to successfully complete all tasks”.
