Attending the announcement ceremony were leaders of the Provincial People's Committee Office; sponsor GAC, Director of the SPRINT Project; leaders of the following units: Provincial Cooperative Alliance, Department of Agriculture and Environment, Department of Industry and Trade, Department of Science and Technology, Department of Finance, Provincial Women's Union and related parties.

The SPRINT project has been implemented in Lao Cai province, aiming to “improve the socio -economic well-being of ethnic minority women through clean growth in the agricultural sector”. This is one of the practical international cooperation projects, funded by the Government of Canada and coordinated by Cowater International.
The project targets approximately 20,000 women and men, especially ethnic minority women, working in micro, small and medium enterprises, production groups in Van Yen, Van Chan, Luc Yen, Tram Tau, Mu Cang Chai districts and Yen Bai city, formerly part of Yen Bai province, now Lao Cai province.

The main activities of the project focus on improving the performance of small and medium enterprises, cooperatives, and production groups through training, business administration coaching, and financial and technical support.
The project also implements innovative support packages for clean growth such as applying energy-saving technology, solar energy, waste treatment, and smart agriculture adapting to climate change. In addition, the project focuses on improving institutional and policy capacity for departments, branches, and local organizations; promoting communication to raise public awareness, promoting gender equality, and increasing the participation of ethnic minority women in the agricultural value chain.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Khadij Razlik - First Secretary of the Canadian Embassy, highly appreciated the 12 selected ideas, emphasizing that these are initiatives with clear spillover effects and positive impacts in the field of clean growth. The units are all operating in the agricultural sector, focusing on priority value chains of the SPRINT project such as tea, bamboo shoots, hawthorn and sticky rice. Of these, 7 units received the support package "Solutions for clean growth" and 5 units received the support package "Innovation in clean growth".
From June to August 2025, the SPRINT project received more than 100 ideas and 35 proposals, thereby selecting 12 of the best applications to receive support in the first phase. It is expected that in 2026 and 2027, the project will implement the second and third phases, selecting 63 more applications with a support budget ranging from about 17 million VND to 850 million VND per application.

At the ceremony, 12 units were selected to receive 12 support packages on "Innovation in clean growth" and "Solutions on clean growth" and received certificates and signed agreements to implement support packages under the SPRINT Project.

This is the beginning of a new development phase for enterprises, cooperatives, and production groups when they have access to technical, financial, and specialized consulting support resources. Units will have the conditions to innovate production models towards clean growth, improve management efficiency, reduce costs, reduce emissions, increase competitiveness, and contribute to building a modern, green, clean, and sustainable agriculture.
