Lao Cai: More than 6,200 union members and youth participate in Green Sunday

On August 24, more than 6,200 union members and youth of Lao Cai province simultaneously joined the 5th Green Sunday in 2025.

The activity is part of the activities in response to the 80th Anniversary of National Day September 2.
Activities are mainly directed towards the grassroots with practical works and tasks, such as: Organizing volunteer teams to plant trees and flowers along the roads to create a green, clean and beautiful environment; renovating houses, gardens, ponds, barns, beautifying fences and gates; general environmental cleaning, garbage collection; caring for and planting new trees; removing illegal advertising signs, and beautifying village roads and alleys.

At the same time, volunteer teams also repaired rural roads, main roads in the fields, and bridges in communes, villages, and hamlets; repaired and dredged irrigation canal systems in the fields; supported poor households in ethnic minority areas to build hygienic latrines and clean water facilities...

As a result, during Green Sunday, the youth of the whole province repaired 28 km of rural roads; dredged 10.8 km of irrigation canals; collected nearly 13 tons of waste, guided people to classify and process waste into organic fertilizer; renovated many cultural houses and children's playgrounds; organized the clearing of nearly 30 km of rural roads; planted and cared for 20 new youth flower roads; maintained the hygiene of "Bright - green - clean - beautiful" roads and neighborhoods...
