14 years since winning second prize in the Sao Mai 2011 contest, Le Viet Anh has often felt tired, but now it seems he has found a new path: singing about national heroes.

The MV "Giong Tu Do" sings about the legendary national hero Saint Giong, who is also the image of heroes of generations of Vietnamese people standing up to protect the country. Le Viet Anh just released it to audiences on online music platforms on the evening of August 20.

Le Viet Anh is devoted to his ancestors

The song in the MV was composed by Huy Tran Jack in a contemporary folk style mixed with rock.

The 37-year-old male singer's mature voice performed the song both powerfully and deeply, combined with the erhu of Meritorious Artist Duong Thuy Anh, making it even more passionate and intense.

Le Viet Anh and the crew found the right rhythm to tell the story of Saint Giong, from a boy who stretched his arms and transformed into a young man with unparalleled strength to defeat the Yin invaders and regain independence and freedom for the country.

The MV "Giong Tu Do" was released while the whole country was jubilantly celebrating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2, further enhancing the listeners' feelings about the nation and country.

Without too much fuss about grand scenes or grand investment, director Tan DS chose to film the MV Gióng Tự Do in the studio, combining cinematic effects, creating emotional images of a much-loved legendary hero.

Huy Tran Jack - author of the song Giong Tu Do - said that after watching Le Viet Anh play the role of revolutionary Nguyen Ngoc Vu - the first official secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, in the musical Fire from the Earth that the Youth Theater premiered earlier this year, he saw the male singer's devotion to his ancestors.

Huy Tran Jack also noticed that Le Viet Anh's voice seemed to be more sublime and powerful when singing about ancestors and heroes of the country.

Therefore, he gave the song Giong Tu Do to Viet Anh, a modern, youthful pop/rock song that easily resonates with the mass audience, with a heroic epic sound. Le Viet Anh immediately took the song and made it into a MV.

Le Viet Anh won second prize in Sao Mai 2011 contest and the Excellent Singer award at Sao Mai Diem Hen 2012.

In 2019, he released the album Nu Cuoi Mat La with songs about mother, homeland, country, a duet with Dang Tuan Phuong, and organized the live show Uoc Nguyen Phu Sa to mark his 10-year singing career.

In April 2024, Le Viet Anh released the album "Other Sky" which includes 7 compositions by musician Do Bao sung in an electronic style.
