Billiards pool match schedule on July 23: Hoang Sao, Tkon advance straight to the knockout round?

Vietnamese players Duong Quoc Hoang, Nguyen Anh Tuan and Luong Duc Thien have a chance to win tickets to the knockout round of the 2025 World Pool Championship.

On July 23, the successful players will compete in the winner's bracket of the World Pool Championship 2025, which is taking place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Today, the representatives of Vietnamese pool billiards will compete including: Duong Quoc Hoang (Hoang Sao), Nguyen Anh Tuan (also known as Tkon) and Luong Duc Thien.

At 5:00 p.m.: Hoang Sao meets Daniel Maciol (Poland, world rank 46), Luong Duc Thien meets Denis Grabe (Estonia, world rank 63).

At 18:30: Nguyen Anh Tuan clashed with Nguyen Henry.

If they continue to win this round, Vietnamese players will participate in the knockout round (64 players) of the World Pool Championship 2025.

Previously, in the opening match, Nguyen Anh Tuan (ranked 84th in the world) defeated his formidable opponent Pijus Labutis (Lithuania, ranked 14th in the world) with a close score of 9-8. Meanwhile, Luong Duc Thien created a big surprise when he defeated former American champion Shane Van Boening with a thrilling score of 9-8. Hoang Sao won the match easily.

Up to now, out of the total of 5 Vietnamese players participating in the World Pool Championship 2025, only Pham Phuong Nam has stopped after 2 losses. Bui Truong An lost in the opening match, but then won again in the loser's bracket to keep his hope alive. Truong An still has one more chance, and if he wins, he will continue. Truong An will play this decisive match at 11:30 p.m.

The tournament is played on a double-elimination basis. The winners advance to the next round of the winners bracket, while the losers are sent to the losers bracket and must win to have any hope of advancing. The qualifying round is a best-of-nine.

The 2025 World Pool Championship is the most prestigious tournament of the year in the world of pool billiards, with a total prize value of up to 1 million USD (equivalent to 26.16 billion VND), the highest in the history of the tournament.
