Mr. Le Tien Chau was appointed to hold the position of Secretary of the Hai Phong City Party Committee.

This morning, September 27, the Politburo's decision to appoint Mr. Le Tien Chau to hold the position of Secretary of the Hai Phong City Party Committee was announced at the 1st Hai Phong City Party Congress, term 2025 - 2030.

On the morning of September 27, at the Hai Phong City Convention and Performance Center, the Hai Phong City Party Committee held the 1st Congress of Delegates for the 2025 - 2030 term.

Attending and directing the congress were Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh , leaders and former leaders of the Party, State, Vietnam Fatherland Front, and 445 official delegates representing 243,544 party members of 118 party committees under the Hai Phong City Party Committee.

At the congress, Mr. Nguyen Quang Duong, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Organization Committee, announced the Politburo 's decisions on key personnel of the Hai Phong City Party Committee.

Mr. Le Tien Chau was appointed to hold the position of Secretary of the Hai Phong City Party Committee for the 2025 - 2030 term.

According to the decision, the Executive Committee of the Hai Phong City Party Committee for the 2025 - 2030 term has 78 members; the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee has 20 members.

Mr. Le Tien Chau, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term, continues to hold the position of Secretary of the Hai Phong City Party Committee for the new term. Messrs. Do Manh Hien, Le Ngoc Chau, Le Van Hieu, and Pham Van Lap were appointed as Deputy Secretaries of the City Party Committee.

The Congress also announced the Secretariat's decision on the personnel of the City Party Committee's Inspection Committee, consisting of 11 people. Mr. Vu Hong Hien, Chairman of the City Party Committee's Inspection Committee for the 2020-2025 term, continues to assume the position of Chairman of the City Party Committee's Inspection Committee for the 2025-2030 term. At the same time, the Hai Phong City Party Committee delegation to attend the 14th Party Congress, including 44 official delegates and 3 alternate delegates, has also been appointed.

Mr. Le Tien Chau, 56 years old, from Chau Thanh commune (Tay Ninh), has a doctorate in law. He used to work at the Ministry of Justice, holding many leadership positions such as Deputy Minister of Justice, Principal of Hanoi Law University, before being assigned as Deputy Secretary and then Secretary of Hau Giang Provincial Party Committee.

In 2021, Mr. Le Tien Chau assumed the position of Vice Chairman and General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front. In January 2023, the Politburo assigned Mr. Chau to be Secretary of the Hai Phong City Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.
