Hanoi Six high schools specialize in organizing 10th grade exams from June 1 to 10, two schools have the same exam date.

Hanoi has two specialized high schools, under the Department of Education and Training, namely Hanoi - Amsterdam and Nguyen Hue . These two schools organize enrollment according to the city's general plan.

Candidates will take the exam over three days, with general subjects Math, Literature and English on the 8th and 9th, and specialized subjects on the 10th. Except for Chemistry and Foreign Languages, which are 120 minutes long, the remaining specialized subjects will be 150 minutes long.

In addition to the two specialized schools under the Department, the city also has four specialized high schools under the Hanoi National University of Education and the Hanoi National University. These schools recruit 10th graders through their own exams, without limiting the place of residence of candidates.

The Foreign Language Specialized High School, University of Foreign Languages, Hanoi National University, will take the earliest exam. On the morning of June 1, candidates will take three exams including Foreign Language, Math and Natural Sciences , Literature and Social Sciences.

For Foreign Language, candidates can choose one of the following languages: English, French, Chinese, German, Japanese, Korean. Except for English, which can be used to enter all 7 specialized classes, the remaining foreign languages are only used for the corresponding specialized class.

The remaining two subjects are 55 minutes each. Literature has both essay and multiple choice sections, while Math is entirely multiple choice.

The admission score is the sum of the three test scores on a 10-point scale, with the Foreign Language score multiplied by two. The school will consider from high to low until the quota is full, from the specialized system with scholarships to the specialized system.

Candidates registering for the Social Sciences and Humanities School will take only one specialized exam on the morning of June 2. Candidates will take the exam for the subject they register for (Literature, History, Geography). The exam score is calculated on a scale of 10, rounded to two decimal places.

The exam schedule for the Natural Science Specialized School is longer. All candidates will take the general exam of Math and Literature (120 minutes each) in the morning and afternoon of June 2, then the specialized exam (150 minutes) on June 3. Candidates must take the exam corresponding to the specialized class they registered for (Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology), while IT classes will take the Math exam.

To be considered for admission, candidates must take all subjects and achieve a score of 4 or higher. The admission score is the sum of the general Math score and the specialized subject score multiplied by a factor of two, without adding priority points.
