Rice field tourism, watching the fields and farming with Hoi An people has long been an attractive tour exploited by many travel businesses.

From the beginning of the year to the peak tourist season is the time when the concrete roads through the rice fields in Hoi An are the busiest.

Most of the visitors come from European countries, Australia... Not only do they enjoy the view of the green rice fields, but the fragrant smell of the young rice when it is growing branches also makes tourists excited.

From early morning, the fields outside Hoi An ancient town have groups of tourists cycling one after another following the guide's instructions to visit the rice fields.

Hoi An City has long identified agricultural tourism and exploring rice fields as a way to attract visitors and create more income for the community.

Rice fields in Hoi An have been banned by the government from changing their intended use, in order to preserve a peaceful urban space.

In addition to admiring the rice fields, many tourists also enjoy seeing fat buffaloes, fragrant with perfume, being led out to the fields by their owners to leisurely graze.

To have a photo smiling with a buffalo or riding on its back, visitors have to pay 20,000 - 50,000 VND to the buffalo herder.

According to statistics, the number of visitors to Hoi An is increasing again, after a long period of being affected by COVID-19.

Since Tet, there have been about 300,000 visitors to the Old Quarter, an increase of 35% over the same period last year. The increase in visitors has led to an increase in the number of stays, with room occupancy reaching an average of over 60%.
