On the morning of September 25, the Facebook page of “Red Rain” announced that the film will only be shown for 3 more days before officially leaving theaters.
The film crew representative wrote on Fanpage: “We would like to sincerely thank the audience for loving and accompanying Red Rain. Exactly one month since its premiere, Red Rain has had a very special journey - being welcomed, shared and spread by audiences nationwide. The film has completely fulfilled its mission and, more importantly, left an impression in the hearts of cinema lovers.
Red Rain will continue to serve audiences in theaters until September 28, 2025, before starting a new journey on many platforms to meet a wider audience."
So the total time the film is shown in theaters is only about 5 weeks, much less than other works that have a theatrical stay of about 2 to more than 3 months.
On her personal page, director, Lieutenant Colonel Dang Thai Huyen shared her happy feelings. She said that according to the distributor's data, the film has welcomed more than 8 million viewers.

"More than 8 million viewers shed tears and accompanied the joys and sorrows of the film's stories. Among those 8 million viewers, there were viewers who came back to watch it many times with their families and loved ones. And among those 8 million viewers, there were many people who expressed both praise and criticism, both positive and negative. I think all of those things are wonderful, because it would be very sad if the film was released in theaters without any attention," the director confided.
According to the film crew, this is also a rare work that has screenings starting as early as 6:30 in the morning.
"Red Rain" is the first Vietnamese film to earn nearly 700 billion VND in ticket sales according to Box Office Vietnam (with errors). In its fifth week of release, the film had its screenings reduced to make way for "Fight to the Death in the Sky." Although sales are increasing slowly, "Red Rain" can completely surpass the above figure.
Critic Nguyen Le said that "Red Rain" has brought new expectations to Vietnamese audiences. "Audiences will expect filmmakers with more vision and investment, but two things are more important. One, audiences continue to prove that one of the 'typical film seasons' with a high number of viewers in Vietnam is September 2. Two, audiences will expect more historical events to be brought to film, often from a more ancient time, with higher production costs and technical requirements."

From a market perspective, the critic hopes that the film and its success will encourage audiences to continue supporting cinema/film on the big screen in an era of instant movie browsing and online streaming. "It takes a lot of different things to get these kinds of works, one of them is patience... and creativity, and quality creativity, always takes time," he commented.
Media expert An Nguyen commented: "The best thing that films like 'Red Rain' or previously 'Tunnels' have done is attract many young audiences to the screen to watch footage of the heroic war of their ancestors. From there, they proactively learn more about history, so that it does not sink into oblivion. Music and movies are doing a good job of inspiring patriotism among young people"./.
