Brown planthoppers and white-backed planthoppers have an average density of 300 - 500 individuals/ ^m2 , in high places 700 - 1,000 individuals/ ^m2 , locally 3,000 - 5,000 individuals/ ^m2 , infected area 15ha, heavily infected 3ha, mainly adult planthoppers, age 1, age 2, distributed in some early planting areas in coastal communes across Thach Ha, coastal areas of Cam Xuyen, Ky Anh, areas outside Duc Tho dike...

To proactively prevent and limit damage caused by pests, the Department of Agriculture and Environment recommends that the People's Committees of districts, cities and towns coordinate with local Irrigation LLCs to regulate water regimes appropriately, ensure adequate water supply for rice growth and development, and closely monitor the growth situation to fertilize the tillering stage.

Strengthen State management of pesticides, organize inspections and checks of pesticide trading, and strictly handle organizations and individuals who violate the law.
