High school graduation exam papers were taken to Con Dao and Phu Quy by plane and speedboat under close police supervision.
Ba Ria - Vung Tau province has an exam site at Vo Thi Sau High School, Con Dao district, about 185 km from the mainland. This year, 93 candidates from this island district took the graduation exam.
Ms. Tran Thi Ngoc Chau, Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ba Ria - Vung Tau, said that the exam papers were transported to Con Dao by air. Similarly, the exam papers were also transported to the mainland for grading. All exam papers and questions were strictly monitored and secured by the police force accompanying them from the mainland to the island.

For the past three years, Binh Thuan has organized an exam site in Phu Quy island district instead of sending candidates to the mainland. This year, the transportation of exam papers and 32 exam officials from the mainland to the island was completed on the afternoon of June 26.
"All exam papers were transported to the island at once by a private speedboat, protected by police forces according to regulations and accompanied by a Border Guard ship," said Mr. Phan Doan Thai, Director of the Department of Education and Training of Binh Thuan.
According to Mr. Thai, when arriving at the island, the exam papers were handed over to the authorities for strict monitoring and protection according to regulations. The only exam site on the island is Ngo Quyen High School with 269 candidates.
Similar to Ba Ria - Vung Tau, after the exam ends, the candidates' papers are transported back to the mainland for grading.
In Ho Chi Minh City , Mr. Le Hoai Nam, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training, said that exam papers are also transported to Can Gio island district by ferry early every morning.
The exam papers were also brought to the mainland the same afternoon and not left overnight at the exam sites. The transportation was closely monitored by the Internal Political Security Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Police to ensure absolute confidentiality and safety.
Currently, the organization of graduation exams is assigned to localities. Some provinces choose to bring candidates from the island to the mainland to take the exam, but many places hire ships, ferries, and planes to bring the exam papers to the island at a cost of hundreds of millions of dong. In previous years, localities explained this to facilitate candidates. However, printing exam papers cannot be replaced by online or digital forms because on a small scale, if a separate printing point with strict regulations is organized, it will cost more in terms of finance and human resources.
The graduation exam took place on June 28-29 with more than one million candidates. Candidates had to take three independent tests: Math, Literature, Foreign Language and two combined tests: Natural Sciences (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) and Social Sciences (History, Geography, Civic Education for candidates studying general education programs; or History, Geography for candidates studying regular education programs).
