Da Nang City has just completed the renovation of sidewalks and technical infrastructure of Pham Van Dong Street connecting from Han River Bridge to East Sea Park (Son Tra District).

This is one of 7 roads invested in pavement with opaque white concrete bricks interspersed with gray bricks.

The new look with wide sidewalks not only creates an open space for the crowded tourist street but also helps many shops become more attractive to tourists.

Ms. Thu Binh, owner of a convenience store specializing in imported goods, said that this road was previously paved with "worm" bricks. Over time, the road has become damaged and bumpy, affecting traffic.

"Foreign tourists often walk on this route because there are many restaurants and hotels here.

Investing in renovating the sidewalk with many colors creates a new atmosphere for the street. Not only is it airy and fresh, but it also creates attraction for the surrounding houses and shops" - Ms. Binh said.

The new sidewalks are paved with opaque white concrete tiles interspersed with gray tiles. There are also directional tiles on the sidewalks for the visually impaired.

Investing heavily in the "face" of Da Nang's tourist route

According to the Danang Department of Transport, these types of bricks have high load-bearing capacity, which will limit breakage when cars go up and down. In addition to the durability of the brick surface due to high load-bearing capacity, another "plus point" of this type of brick is its stable color and high urban aesthetics because it does not peel, wear, or change color.

Similarly, in the coming time, the central roads of Hai Chau district will also be invested in repairing and upgrading 8 roads. Spending a lot of resources to "renew" the urban area will not only increase the stability of sidewalks and road surfaces, but also ensure traffic safety, creating convenience for people and tourists to travel.
