A family in Ia Khuol commune was able to borrow more than 270 million VND from a STEM loan.

(GLO)- On the morning of September 22, in Ia Khuol commune, the Chu Pah Social Policy Bank Transaction Office organized the disbursement of the first loan under the preferential credit program for students studying science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) in the commune.

This is a preferential loan implemented under Decision No. 29/QD-TTg dated August 28, 2025 of the Prime Minister, creating favorable conditions for the young generation with a passion for science and technology to access financial resources for their studies.

The first case to access this policy credit source is the family of Mrs. Luong Thi Huyen and Mr. Truong Van Trung (Dai An 1 village, Ia Khuol commune) with a son, Truong Duc Toan, a first-year student majoring in Information Technology, Hanoi University of Natural Resources and Environment.

The total loan approved for the family is 274 million VND for the entire 4 years of study with a preferential interest rate of only 4.8%/year. In this first disbursement, the family received 68.5 million VND to cover the expenses for the first year of study.

STEM loans have special significance, empowering young generations in localities on their journey to pursue their passion for science and technology.
