GĐXH – After using stimulants, the patient suffered from hallucinations and amputated his own penis.
On November 1, information from the 108 Military Central Hospital said that they had just admitted a male patient to the hospital with his penis amputated 4 hours ago, with bleeding in the penis area.
It is known that after using stimulants, the patient suffered from hallucinations and severed his own penis.
Immediately after being admitted to the hospital, the doctors examined, evaluated and decided to reattach the severed penis for the patient using microsurgery. This is a rather complicated technique. A team of multidisciplinary doctors was mobilized to reattach the penis for the patient, including specialists in: Andrology, Cardiology, Microsurgery and Plastic Surgery, Emergency and Anesthesia and Resuscitation...

The surgeons perform anastomosis of the urethra, corpus cavernosum, blood vessels, nerves, and soft tissues (blood vessels, penile nerves, cavernous anastomosis, and finally the urethral anastomosis).
The surgery was very complicated because of the small blood vessels and jagged wounds. The doctors had to cut and find blood vessels and nerves many times. After microsurgery to reconnect the blood vessels, the result was that the stump had turned warm and pink again, which was a sign that the surgery was successful.
After surgery, the patient's health is stable. However, further monitoring is needed before discharge.
Dr. Nguyen Van Phuc, Department of Andrology, 108 Central Military Hospital, said that studies show that nearly 50% of cases of penile amputation are due to self-amputation when the patient uses stimulants, the rest are due to others cutting due to hatred or jealousy, and a few cases are due to accidents.
Men with these behaviors tend to do it violently, causing serious injury and damage. This type of injury, although rare, has serious consequences for the patient and greatly affects the quality of life.
Therefore, experts recommend that patients with unusual symptoms should always be monitored and paid attention to in daily activities to ensure safety for themselves and those around them.
