As a beautiful tradition of remembering the source of drinking water, every year on the occasion of Lunar New Year, the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Fatherland Front Committee organized a delegation to visit and pay deep gratitude to the heroic martyrs who fell to bring peace , independence, and freedom to blossom and bear fruit.

During the 2 days, January 3-4, the delegation of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Fatherland Front Committee led by Comrade Dau Thanh Tung, Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, came to offer flowers and incense at the tomb of General Vo Nguyen Giap, Tho Loc Martyrs' Cemetery, Temple of Heroes and Martyrs of Road 20 Quyet Thang, Tam Co Cave, and the historical relic of Y Ta Cave ( Quang Binh Province). In the photo, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Dau Thanh Tung arranged the wreath to visit the Temple of Heroes and Martyrs of Road 20 Quyet Thang. The temple still preserves the remaining relics of 8 youth volunteers from Hoang Hoa district who sacrificed their lives at Tam Co Cave in 1972.

The delegation also visited the heroic martyrs resting at the Truong Son National Martyrs' Cemetery, the National Martyrs' Cemetery on Road 9, the Quang Tri Ancient Citadel National Monument, the Vinh Linh Martyrs' Cemetery and the Mai Quoc Ca Platoon Memorial (Quang Tri Province). Each monument and cemetery is a sacred story about the bravery and courage in combat and the heroic sacrifice of the "Uncle Ho's soldiers". They have written a bright symbol of the immortal spirit of protecting the Fatherland of peace, independence and freedom. And in that story, there is always a part of the children of Thanh Hoa. In the photo, the delegation took a moment of silence at the Monument of heroic martyrs in the Quang Tri Ancient Citadel National Monument.

Like the story of the heroic Mai Quoc Ca Platoon. The platoon had 20 members, more than half of whom were from Thanh Hoa, commanded by Platoon Leader Mai Quoc Ca from Ha Trung district. In the fiery summer of 1972, the platoon volunteered to carry out a suicide mission, destroying 125 enemies and many military vehicles. In that unequal battle, almost the entire platoon fell, writing an immortal epic about the steadfastness and indomitability in fighting for independence and freedom for the Fatherland, for the happiness of the people. In the photo, the delegation of Thanh Hoa province offered flowers and incense at the Mai Quoc Ca Platoon Memorial on the Thach Han River. The memorial was sculpted in the shape of 19 hearts, symbolizing the 19 soldiers of the heroic platoon who sacrificed their lives.

At the martyrs' cemeteries: Truong Son, Road 9, Vinh Linh, there are mostly graves of martyrs from Thanh Hoa. In a sacred and emotional atmosphere, the delegation of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Fatherland Front Committee respectfully expressed their deep gratitude to those who sacrificed their blood and bones for the country's unity and peace, and for the people's freedom and happiness. In the photo, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Dau Thanh Tung and Director of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs rang the bell 9 times to announce the souls of heroic martyrs at the Truong Son National Martyrs' Cemetery.

Offering incense to the martyrs' graves on the eve of Tet not only brings responsibility but also great emotion and pride to many members of the delegation. Many members of the delegation shared that they have done something useful, such as contributing to warming and comforting those who sacrificed themselves for the Fatherland so that today they can have peace, independence and freedom. In the photo, Director of the Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs Vu Thi Huong and members of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Delegation offer incense at Vinh Linh Martyrs' Cemetery.

Thus, organizing delegations to visit and pay deep gratitude to heroic martyrs at relics and cemeteries on the days before Lunar New Year has become a beautiful tradition of remembering the source of water when drinking water. Reminding people today and tomorrow to appreciate the value of life, to be grateful to their ancestors who sacrificed their blood, bones, and youth for today's peace, independence, and freedom.
