Pieu scarf is one of the typical products of Thai people.

This scarf is elaborately woven from cotton thread, then dyed with indigo. When the fabric is dry, the Thai people will embroider it with colorful patterns, typical of the Northwest mountains and forests.

From this main material, designer Thuy Nguyen has created a colorful collection called Red Silk Thread .

The collection's name is meant to praise the close relationship between Hoa Ban and Khum in the legend of the Thai people.

From the original color palette of the Piêu scarf including green, red, purple, yellow, pink... Thuy Nguyen mixed these colors according to the principle of dark and light, alternating warm and cool colors.

This method not only maintains the inherent symmetry of the Pieu scarf, but Thuy Nguyen also cleverly incorporates painting elements into the design.

It is contemporary in its visual imagery and art. This allows the design to retain its traditional beauty while still reflecting modern trends.

The highlight and also the easily recognizable attraction through each design are the typical patterns of Pieu scarves, creatively combined, not creating boredom.

The triangle pattern is decorated in many different forms. When two triangles are opposite each other, it creates a sedge pattern. When two triangles are next to each other, it creates a diamond pattern.

From 6-pointed or 8-pointed star patterns, Thuy Nguyen combines them to create pumpkin flower patterns.

She is also subtle when alternating cocoon patterns with hook patterns to create a new material.

In addition, details of birds, mountains and forests are also flexibly incorporated into the material by Thuy Nguyen to create a lighter, more airy design.
