The rice variety chosen to create the image of two carps jumping over the dragon gate is Thai Xuyen, with the characteristics of being hardy, resistant to pests and diseases, and suitable for the local climate and soil.

Artist Nguyen Phuc Khoi, who was in charge of creating the painting, said that the carp jumping over the dragon gate is a symbol of success and progress in life. The carp is also considered a symbol of longevity and luck.

The painting is created on the rice field, which is new but still ensures folk elements, close to the rice farming residents, typical in the Northern region in general and Ninh Binh in particular.

Up to now, the rice in Tam Coc fields is blooming, growing well and promises to ripen by the end of May, right in time for the Ninh Binh Tourism Week "Tam Coc - Trang An Golden Color" in 2025.
