The 156-year-old Eiserner Steg iron bridge, spanning the Main River, connecting the East and West banks of Frankfurt (Germany), is a familiar place for couples to hang locks - a symbol of love.

This is also the first wrought iron bridge in Europe, about 170m long, for pedestrians or cyclists. Built in neo-Gothic style, the bridge has become a unique attraction, attracting tourists every day.

The entire space on the bridge is reserved for pedestrians. Visitors can freely stroll and take photos without worrying about traffic.

According to statistics from the management board, every day, the Eiserner Steg iron bridge welcomes more than 10,000 visitors.

The highlight of Eiserner Steg is the colorful padlocks. Most of these are from married couples, not lovers.

The bridge was destroyed at the end of World War II but rebuilt shortly thereafter. In 1993, it underwent a comprehensive restoration. The colorful love locks and vibrant decorations add to the romantic atmosphere.

Many visitors here expressed surprise when seeing spider webs covering many places, from the bridge railings to the locks that had been "inactive" for many years.

Every year, thousands of couples come here, prepare a colorful padlock and attach it to the bridge. They write their names or anniversary date on the lock, then lock it to the bridge and throw the key into the river, as a pledge of love.

According to information from a German travel agency, there are currently dozens of love bridges in the world with colorful locks, but no bridge can compare to Eiserner Steg in terms of history, scale and unique architecture.
This bridge has created a romantic space, filled with happiness that visitors cannot find anywhere else.

Besides Eiserner Steg, Frankfurt also has another bridge called Holbeinsteg but it is not famous for its love lock tradition, but is known as a modern symbol, connecting the city center with the museums across the river.

Connecting District 4 with District 1 (HCMC) across Tau Hu - Ben Nghe canal, there are many bridges, but only Khanh Hoi bridge and Mong bridge are the two oldest bridges.
