However, in this list, Meritorious Artist Quang Teo, Meritorious Artist Chi Trung and Meritorious Artist Thanh Loan are "absent", causing a stir in public opinion.

Quang Teo shared that any artist working in the art field wishes to achieve the highest title of People's Artist, which is a milestone to strive for.
"I said I met the criteria to be considered for the People's Artist title, but there will be many people who are more qualified. They were awarded the title first, while I… haven't been, so I'll leave it for later. No problem at all," he said.
According to artist Quang Teo, the most important and precious thing for an artist is the love of the people, the acceptance and trust of the audience and the public.
"I once said that I wanted to be a People's Artist by the end of my life, but I have wanted to be a People's Artist for a long time.

The male artist confided: "It would be a lie to say I'm not sad. I'm a little sad but not disappointed or burdened at all. I'm still very calm!
Honestly, I live a very simple life, never showing off, so wherever I go, people love me and welcome me warmly and thoughtfully. My family life is also warm and decent, even though it took my wife 14 years to have a child.
I just hope to have good health so that I can continue to contribute, perform and serve the people. As for the title of People's Artist, perhaps it is not yet my destiny. If it doesn't happen this time, the next time will surely be better," he shared.

In response to the reporter's question about the shortcomings in the review of the Meritorious Artist and People's Artist titles, artist Quang Teo said: "No one can love the whole world , no one is perfect and complete.
My comedy may be loved by many people, but there will be people who don't like it. In a jury of 20 people, for example, there will be a few people who don't like me and don't choose me. It's difficult and unavoidable.
I just think that, when considering the title of People's Artist in all factors and issues, there should be more criteria and factors such as serving the people. If you are a People's Artist, the people must know your face and name.
Meritorious Artist Quang Teo's real name is Nguyen Tien Quang (born April 24, 1962). He graduated from the Cheo Department of the Military College of Culture and Arts (now the Military University of Culture and Arts), so Quang Teo started his acting career as a Cheo singer, then he moved to the Military Drama Theater from 1986 until his retirement in June 2015.

"For a long time, I have considered myself an artist of the people. I have wandered around performing from the South to the North, performing in all the villages and hamlets of the Central Highlands, so in the hearts of the masses, I have had a certain position.
But the title of People's Artist will bring pride to the family and clan. Even if my village had a People's Artist, everyone would be very happy," he once shared.
Talking about his retirement and still performing diligently, Quang Teo said that if he were to be a human in the next life, he would still choose acting. This profession brings happiness to everyone, his life is all year round bringing joy to the audience and the audience also brings him recognition.
"Luckily for me, in my decades of performing arts, I have never been criticized by the audience. I am well-received in every role, whether it is a supporting or a main role. Wherever I am, people welcome me enthusiastically and look forward to each skit.
From my first role as Don Sut in the play The Ninth Oath until now, the audience has always recognized my efforts. That is the greatest success and I have no more expectations. I am satisfied and happy with my current life, with what I have," he confided.
The 10th round of awarding the titles of Meritorious Artist and People's Artist was applied for the first time under the new Decree.
In order for an individual to achieve the title of Meritorious Artist or People's Artist, in addition to the criteria of years of work, awards... councils at all levels also discuss and evaluate special cases to submit to the Prime Minister for consideration and decision.
In July 2022, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced 139 dossiers proposing the title of People's Artist and 348 dossiers proposing the title of Meritorious Artist for the 10th time submitted to the State Council.
From August 2022, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will post on its website a list of 139 applications for the title of People's Artist and 348 applications for the title of Meritorious Artist, to solicit public opinion.
The public consultation was conducted 20 days before the State Council meeting as prescribed.
The list was submitted by 5 specialized councils to the State-level council. Of the 139 applications for People's Artist consideration, so far, 77 people have met the criteria and have been approved.
According to Decision 724/QD-CTN signed by the President on June 22, 77 individuals were awarded the title of People's Artist. On November 28, President Vo Van Thuong also signed Decision 1431/QD-CTN, including 42 individuals awarded the title of People's Artist.
