Experiencing a Vietnamese meal for the first time with typical dishes such as eggplant, boiled water spinach,... the Africans working on the farm kept exclaiming: "Chapepa" (wonderful).
Tony Quy (real name is Ta Quy, from Nghe An ) is a familiar member of the African group who has been with Quang Linh Vlogs for many years in Angola.
In addition to supporting local people in farming , he also regularly instructs them how to cook Vietnamese dishes, ensuring they are full, have energy to work, and contribute to spreading the culinary culture of his homeland.
In a recent video posted on his YouTube channel with nearly 300,000 followers, Tony Quy took advantage of the weekend to go to a village farm to instruct Angolan members on how to cook a typical Vietnamese meal.
These are popular dishes, loved by many Vietnamese people such as eggplant, boiled water spinach and fried fish.
Tony Quy said the meals were prepared from self-sufficient food sources available on the farm.
The eggplants were pickled at home the day before. The fried fish and boiled spinach were prepared on the spot to ensure they were hot and delicious.
Banxoa - an Angolan member of Quang Linh Vlogs' African group is in charge of cooking.
He listened attentively and followed Tony Quy's instructions to master how to prepare and cook Vietnamese dishes.
“Leave the mackerel whole, gut it, remove the intestines, wash it, marinate it with salt, then fry it. This dish is delicious with ginger fish sauce.
Boil the water spinach, after boiling, take it out and add a little salt and MSG to make soup," Tony Quy instructed Banxoa.
He also added that these are familiar, popular dishes in Vietnam, easy to eat and easy to prepare.
As for the eggplant, you don't need to cook it, just pickle it. Make some fish sauce to dip fried fish and boiled morning glory and you're done.
When the meal was served, Tony Quy expressed that the meal was simple but full of love for his homeland. He also did not forget to instruct the people on how to enjoy it.
“You should dip the morning glory and fried fish in this fish sauce, it's delicious. The pickled eggplant is a bit sour but it's also delicious with rice and soup,” he said.
Banxoa commented, the eggplant is crispy and delicious, and the boiled water spinach with fish sauce is very attractive.
Loi Con (real name Mativado, 6 years old) – a famous child member of the Quang Linh Vlogs group also likes to eat pickled eggplant. The boy constantly asks Tony Quy to add more eggplant to eat with rice.
The remaining Africans also enjoyed the authentic Vietnamese meal. Throughout the meal, they kept exclaiming: "Chapepa" (wonderful).
