Before the news, many people were worried that the merger of provinces and the abolition of district level would change the place name on the red book, which would affect the legality of previously issued documents and their rights, so they had to re-do it.

Regarding this issue, the Department of Agriculture and Environment informs that people are not required to re-issue the red book just because of a change in administrative unit. Changing the administrative place name in the red book (such as the name of the province or district) does not affect the legal value of the issued documents. People can continue to use the old land documents to exercise rights such as: transfer, donation, inheritance, mortgage... When people carry out transactions and procedures on land use rights, the competent authority will simultaneously adjust the information on the name of the commune/ward and province.

In case people need to update new administrative geographical information, they can still make adjustments at the land registration office without having to make a new book.
