A drainage ditch at the head of 3/2 bridge, group 8, Ha Giang 2 ward has many uncovered spots, posing a potential danger to people (Photo taken at 8:00 a.m. on July 16).

According to observations, the drainage system here has many sections of the cover missing, broken or collapsed, leaving deep holes that can cause accidents at any time, especially for pedestrians, the elderly, children or vehicles. Not only is it unsafe, this area is also full of weeds and garbage stuck in the sewers, making the environment dirty and losing the urban beauty.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Ly, a resident living near this area and often walks here, said: “I walk through this section every day so I am very worried. The sewer has no cover, the mouth is open deep to the sidewalk, just a little carelessness can cause a foot to fall, especially for children or motorcyclists. I hope the authorities will soon check and fix it so that people can feel more secure when traveling.”

The uncovered drainage ditches not only affect the daily life of the people but also spoil the urban beauty. People hope that the local government and relevant agencies will soon have a solution to ensure the safety of the people and preserve the image of a civilized and clean urban area.
