On the morning of September 2, the military parade to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam will take place at Ba Dinh Square. This is a highly anticipated event, which will certainly attract a large number of people across the country to participate directly or watch indirectly via television and the Internet.
To ensure smooth connections, helping millions of people record and share historical moments, two major network operators, Viettel and VNPT, have been implementing unprecedented large-scale and comprehensive campaigns on telecommunications infrastructure.
Viettel: comprehensive 5G coverage, pioneering AI application
With the huge scale of the event, it is expected that about 2.9 million people will flock to the parade area. The demand for services will not only stop at surfing the web or watching movies but will focus on livestreaming, video calling, posting photos, high-quality videos... turning each smartphone into a "mobile TV station". This will create unprecedented pressure on the network.
To cope with this challenge, Viettel has outlined a comprehensive operational plan with more than 2,400 technical solutions, 12 times more than the September 2, 2024 event and 7 times the workload to ensure the A50 event taking place in Ho Chi Minh City.

Of which, Viettel will install 1,700 new 5G broadcasting stations, including 500 new 5G BTS stations and, for the first time in Vietnam, 1,200 5G small cells deployed in crowded places. These 5G small cells help increase Internet capacity and speed, while sharing the load for the 4G network.
In addition, Viettel also mobilized 700 temporary 4G stations and 25 mobile broadcasting vehicles to serve the people.
This is also the first time Viettel has used artificial intelligence (AI) to predict the most crowded locations and "hot" times that many people are interested in...
Every 5 minutes, AI will automatically adjust the coverage area, direct the signal to the right place with the most users, and redirect users to neighboring towers when it detects overload. This ensures the infrastructure operates in harmony and the best service quality.
VNPT ready infrastructure to serve A80 event
In addition to Viettel, VNPT is also making all-out efforts to ensure the telecommunications infrastructure operates smoothly and safely during the 80th National Day celebration on September 2.
Before the Great Festival, VNPT completed reviewing and optimizing the entire system, implementing plans to ensure information security at the highest level.

Technical scenarios have been prepared, from maintaining mobile service quality, preventing network attacks (DDOS) to service blockade plans when there is an urgent request, demonstrating a proactive spirit and absolute responsibility for national information security and safety.
For key activities such as military parades, marches and major art programs, VNPT has increased Vinaphone mobile network capacity in 10 key areas in Hanoi.
In addition to 5,500 3G/4G/5G mobile broadcasting stations in the event areas, a series of technical solutions have also been drastically deployed to improve capacity and meet the increasing demand for customer services at event locations: adding 1,100 4G broadcasting stations, 3G/4G/5G mobile/field broadcasting at 106 locations...
VNPT not only serves people's connection needs, but is also a strategic transmission infrastructure for press and television agencies.
With Vietnam Television (VTV), VNPT deployed fiber optic infrastructure at 17 connection points, including 36 white fiber optic lines, 17 hotline channels and 9 FTTH Internet lines, ensuring smooth and sharp live TV transmission.
For Ho Chi Minh City Television (HTV), VNPT provides signal transmission lines for 18 LED screens, 6 television bridge points and 297 loudspeaker positions, ensuring clear sound spreading throughout the streets.
The goal of the two network operators Viettel and VNPT is to help people spread historical moments in the most complete way, from the parades passing the podium to the brilliant fireworks in the sky of Hanoi.
