Unique art gallery in Da Nang City wins 'Building of the Year' award

On January 5, the Organizing Committee of Ashui Awards 2024 announced the title "Work of the Year" belonging to Son Tra District Art Gallery ( Da Nang City).

The project was constructed by Saiko Construction and Trading Company Limited, the investor is Son Tra District People's Committee, with an investment of nearly 20 billion VND.

Along with the "Building of the Year" award, architect Ho Khue (Ho Khue Design and Construction Co., Ltd., Da Nang City), who designed the Son Tra District Art Gallery, also won the title "Architect of the Year".

Of which, the Son Tra District Art Exhibition House project won convincingly with 31.64% of the votes, far surpassing the second-ranked project (18.42%).

As Thanh Nien reported, the Son Tra District Art Gallery has won many international awards.

The project was born from the local desire for a space to exhibit valuable works of art, a place for artists to live, as well as create a playground for art appreciation, raise public awareness of art, and especially attract people and tourists.

Therefore, the project is designed as an open space, with unique green park and grass arrangement on the roof. This is also a place for community activities, where people can walk, exercise, sightsee and enjoy works of art.

The project also contributes a green area, an architectural highlight to the urban space.

Ashui Awards was established in 2012 with the vision of becoming the No. 1 construction industry communication system in Vietnam, targeting Asia and the world.

This is a prestigious award in the construction industry, considered the "Oscar" of the Vietnamese construction industry, aiming to connect members in the fields of architecture, construction and urban development; at the same time, encourage positive innovations that contribute to community development and social progress.

The results of the titles are based on community votes (30%) and selection committee votes (70%).
